Where do I find the serial number on my excavator?
Expert_Answer
The machine serial number (PIN) is on the manufacturer's type plate, usually riveted to the frame near the cab — common locations are beside or below the cab door, on the front of the upper structure, or inside the cab on the frame. It is also stamped directly into the chassis steel on many machines. The serial number matters for undercarriage parts because manufacturers often changed undercarriage configuration mid-series without renaming the model — two machines with the same model badge can use different chains or rollers. When requesting a quote, send the full serial number together with the model; it lets the exact configuration be confirmed before anything is manufactured or shipped, eliminating fitment risk.
