How much does it cost to replace an excavator undercarriage?

Expert_Answer

There is no single figure — the cost depends on machine size, which components are actually worn, and steel versus rubber configuration. A 20-tonne excavator needing chains, shoes, rollers, idlers and sprockets is a very different job from replacing two rubber tracks on a mini excavator. What is consistent: undercarriage represents roughly half of an excavator's lifetime repair spend, and replacing components at the right wear stage — rather than after a failure — is what controls the bill. The most reliable approach is a measured inspection, then a quote for exactly the components over their wear limit. Send VANROCK your machine model and measurements and the responsible dealer will price the exact configuration.
