Do track rollers need greasing or maintenance?

Expert_Answer

Track rollers are generally sealed-for-life on most modern machines, so they do not need routine greasing by the operator. The internal lubricant is filled at manufacture and retained by seals. Maintenance is mainly about inspection: check for leaks, abnormal wear, flat spots, seized rollers, noise, and heat after operation. Also keep the undercarriage clean, because packed mud, rocks, and debris accelerate wear and can damage seals. If a roller is leaking oil, making noise, or running hot, it should be replaced rather than greased. On some older or specialty applications, serviceable rollers may have grease fittings, but that depends on the machine design.
