// Q&A · Rubber Tracks

Rubber tracks or steel tracks — which is better for my machine?

Expert_Answer

It depends on where the machine works. Rubber tracks are quieter, gentler on asphalt and finished surfaces, give better ride comfort and suit mini and midi excavators working around buildings, landscaping and utilities. Steel tracks last longer in demolition, rock, forestry and abrasive ground, carry higher loads, resist cuts, and can be re-shoed instead of replaced as a whole. A common middle ground is steel tracks fitted with bolt-on or clip-on rubber pads: steel durability with surface protection where needed. For machines that split time between sites, rubber pads are often the most economical answer. VANROCK supplies rubber tracks, steel track groups and all five rubber pad mounting systems, with pricing quoted on request through its appointed dealer network.
