How many hours do rubber tracks last on a mini excavator?

Expert_Answer

As a broad guide, 1,000–2,000 operating hours is common for a quality rubber track on a mini excavator, but the spread is wide in both directions. Life shortens dramatically with abrasive or demolition surfaces, sharp debris, kerb climbing, aggressive counter-rotation, oil or fuel contamination, and incorrect tension — an over-tight track strains the steel cord, a loose one lets the track snake and chews the lugs. It extends with smooth surfaces, wide turns and correct tension checked weekly. Also watch the steel components: worn sprockets and rollers destroy a new track quickly. When lugs tear, cords show, or cracks reach the steel cores, replace — usually in pairs. VANROCK quotes rubber tracks per machine model through its dealers.
