A shaft screener bucket is a hydraulic attachment that screens, separates, and in some applications crushes or mixes material using rotating shafts fitted with screening discs or blades inside the bucket body. The operator loads soil, compost, demolition waste, asphalt millings, or similar material into the bucket, then hydraulic power from the excavator, skid steer, or loader turns the shafts. Fines fall through the gaps while oversized material stays in the bucket for further processing or discharge. The main advantage is on-site material handling, reducing haul-off and rehandling. Performance depends on shaft configuration, spacing, hydraulic flow, torque, and the feed material’s moisture and contamination level.
