How does a vibratory pile driver keep piles straighter while vibrating?
It keeps piles straighter by using a transverse cushion array and a non-tilt clamp under a hydraulic revolving mounting adapter. The transverse, horizontal cushion structure is stated to minimise bending of both the hammer and the pile.
The VANROCK specification contrasts this with a longitudinal, vertical cushion arrangement, which allows bending and can damage cushions and piles. It also contrasts the non-tilt structure with free-tilt arrangements, noting that free tilt makes sheet piles more likely to bend and harder to interlock straight.
The hammer also has a twist correction hole on the mounting adapter and 360° hydraulic rotation, which helps positioning during pile alignment.
